Children are normally admitted once a year, in September, following their fourth birthday. Special arrangements may be made in consultation with the Headteacher for children born between April and August to be admitted in January.
Up to 30 are admitted each year. Parents are requested to register their children well in advance.
The Governors’ policy on admissions is that in the event that a year is over subscribed, applications will be considered on the following criteria (in order of priority):
1. Children of families residing in the catchment area of Hampton Dene Primary School.
2. Siblings of pupils already at the school.
3. Children of families living outside the catchment area with priority being given to those living
closest to the boundary.
Parents of children who are refused admission have the right to appeal within 14 days of the decision by writing to Divisional Administrative Officer, County Education Office, Bath Street, Hereford, HR1 2HQ
Pupils completing their primary education at this school transfer to high school for the beginning of the Autumn term following their eleventh birthday.
